System Development

This week was the start of the system development for EMB Region 6 and together with our “Senior” we showed the different departments about the partial GUI of the system that we will soon be implementing. They have also discussed on what other things are needed to according to the needs of each departments.

This was taken from discussion with other department. Just like with the first department, they added links, lay out, and functions in regards with their needs.

Here we have seen how the fiber optic cables and router were installed. I am amazed because it was my first time seeing this things and how to configure it. They used a device that joins the other end of a fiber optic wire with the other and also they set the speed with their own device. This fiber optic internet is from Globe Telecom.

Fourth week of OJT

The staffs in EMB are going to transfer from the other building going to the new building (where we are currently staying and doing our work) so we helped them to transfer their things like tables, computers, boxes of bond papers and etc.Thw next day was a holiday but I came back so that I can help with the LAN set up of the employees there. I crimped the UTP cables with the RJ45s and I also helped sir Carl and sir Nahum with the taping(which were removed because it was changed to a proper cable cover) of the wires on the ceilings and walls using a masking tape.We continued helping them especially in the MIS department to carry their stuffs on the rest of the days.

Third week of OJT

We continued the scanning of documents until February 18. Then after that, I continued to research more videos about Laravel programming language.

February 19, a black out occured while I was surfing the net. It was 3 P.M. in the afternoon and 2 hours more until 5 P.M. so I waited until my time out.

This picture was taken on my way home.

The next day, our supervisor had set a meeting in regards to the system that we are going to develop. I was assigned in front end web-development.

Second week of OJT

We’ve been learning Laravel on the first week of our OJT and I am close on finishing the tutorial that I am following on YouTube.

The next day, the other department, the ones who were assigned in Permit to Operate of businesses, asked us to scan the hard copy of the documents to be saved in PDF. We brought the large scanners to our table which we borrowed from our supervisor’s office. It was a heavy one but we still managed to carry it to our building third floor.

We first installed the software then we are ready to go with the scanning and by the way, the files were quite many.

We scanned all of the documents from the second week and continued it on the third week.

First week of OJT

As a fourth year student, I don’t have any idea of how my profession engages in the real world but thanks to my OJT environment because I am being sharpened as to what I will be in the future.

Hard coding.
